As we near the end of 2022, we would like to take this opportunity to spread some positivity and share some good environmental news stories from this year (thank you to our brilliant interns Sadie and Mariana for putting this together)! In 2023 we will begin to share lots of information about our exciting project results... watch this space!

In 2021 an international research team (Hickman et al.) revealed how many people are feeling deep levels of anxiety in connection with climate change. 75% said the future is frightening, 83% said that people have failed to care for the planet, and nearly 60% said they felt very worried or extremely worried. So what is eco-anxiety, and what can we do? Sadie and Mariana (project interns) have put together some short slides introducing the term, and compiled a list of places you can go to access further support.

The paper is published in the Lancet by Hickman et al. (2021) and is called 'Climate anxiety in children and young people and their beliefs about government responses to climate change: a global survey'.

Exciting news!!! Our youth climate cafe guide is now live on our website: https://ccc-catapult.org/the-climate-cafe-guide/ (link also in bio). Based on our experience of running a climate cafe event for young people, we have developed this guide to support others to run their own youth-focused climate cafe experiences. The guide, which was co-produced with youth action partners and developed by Sadie Barnes, Mariana Fidalgo, Rosamund Portus and Sara-Jayne Williams, contains top tips, step-by-step guidance, and suggested conversation formats.
